Mango Finger is the working name Andrew Gibson writes and records music under. Mango Finger came into being in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns. After a hiatus of many years Gibson began to write and record music of different styles and temperaments. Gibson believes that music speaks through us and doesn't necessarily belong to anyone. In this he believes largely in improvisation and creating the conditions framed by the right time and space for new music to appear. He writes and records albums that are governed only by a theme and aesthetic to shape how the music appears in the world.

Murmuration here is a highlights album of two albums written and recorded over July and August 2023 whereby the guitar as the main instrument aims to mimic the movement and flight of birds. The merging of guitars in melody and harmony in response to the lead guitar pattern is governed by an improvisational idea of birds joining a Murmuration and bringing their own movements to the piece which in itself becomes a Murmuration of guitars.
